Great run by AAC last 2 weeks now up almost 20% This snippet goes a bit twds showing that here in Oz the average beef prices realised by USA exporters is not crucial while we enjoy exceptionally strong live cattle prices and local beef prices as:
1) Farmers desperately seek livestock to rebuild their breeding herds many of which were sold off completely in central QLD.

2) Aussie buyers eg supermkts have no option but to pay through the nose to stock their shelves as we do NOT allow any beef imports into country for quarantine reasons.

Hence, AAC with plenty grass, own feedlots, plenty weaners/breeders for sale is in pound seats along with niche wagyu mkt here and in Japan.

'The export beef industry shipped 980,000 tonnes of beef valued at $8.5bn in 2015-16, 24 per cent less in volume as cattle supply tightened after drought in Northern Australia, but with a higher value. The live cattle export market remained strong, with 1.25 million cattle exported last financial year, valued at $1.54bn.
Angus Gidley-Baird, an analyst with Rabobank, warned the volume of beef exports would continue to fall. But it was not because world demand for beef was shrinking, but that Australia was unable to supply enough.
Many local processors have dropped out of the market, unable to sell beef at the current prices to their regular buyers, leaving the sky-high market in the short term to cattle producers desperate to rebuild their herd numbers.
“Brazil has taken up most of the slack left by us being short on volume, because it is very competitive on price,” Mr Gidley-Baird said.'
