What actually happened I reckon is when MVT took out most of MQC stake in YBR - MQC wanted to sell it all to them. MVT refused so MQC kept selling. It has played out well for MVT because ultimately they get to launch a low ball bid. I doubt it was planned by either. Question is whether Bouris would want to launch his own bid, hence MVT make a quick profit, or whether he will let it go. He may be a great mentor, but he's not great at running public companies or communicating. I doubt Bouris will walk away, this is his baby. I know it's left field but AMP should buy it. Bouris has great PR ability and whilst you wouldn't want him to run AMP for a day, would be good to have him as part of the recovery effort for AMP. stranger things have happened....
