I put the $3.20/mmbtu into google to see what come up...just curious, and I was surprised at how many companies and governments worldwide use this figure. Other common figures include $2.80 and $4.10 mmbtu.
I am not a mathematician but it would appear to be based on a logarithmic formula common in the sector. For x you get y, add b and you get d etc...
Q. Is this an industry standard figure based on a certain set of criteria?
Q. Can I assume this is price of gas still in the ground? (But covers cost of exploration, drilling, fracking, etc...) I imagine pipelines, storage facilities and infrastructure will add to this price considerably.
Q. At what point in the equation can investors get a return? from in ground value, from storage value or from sales value?
Just wondering if the figures being bantied around are industry standards and as such are not infringing on ASX rules of releasing info unannounced. Thrummy you have good insight into the co and I am happy to read all you write, but I have 2 more questions.
1. Why wouldn't the co announce this info themselves and make a PR event of it?
2. Why no market creep upwards? What do I mean? People in companies talk to mates and mates talk to mates etc, yet not much SP movement. Many listed companies have market creep up and down from chinese whispers, yet this co seems to be very airtight. I am surprised since it also involves other partners which means the circle of friends is bigger and whispers are louder. Pubs and taxis sure know how to sound-proof and quell rumours these days, lol
