I'm bemused by your comments on Donald Trump. He has boosted US O&G production by opening up govt land that Barack Obama had closed, and by encouraging the FF industry where his predecessor had done everything he could to oppose it. Iran is much more about a rogue regime and nuclear weapons than it is about oil. But of course sanctions have to concentrate on oil if that's the country's main export.
But if you put the two things together - US production up Iran production down - it would be difficult to argue that anyone could have bettered Donald Trump's performance (from a US perspective).
