Aristocrat Leisure (ALL.AX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) yesterday received an official query from the Australian Stock Exchange after the gaming machine maker's shareprice surged to A$7.50 from A$5.98 two weeks ago. In response, chief financial officer Simon Kelly stated that Aristocrat was 'not aware of any information concerning it that has not been announced.' There has been persistent speculation recently that Aristocrat, which has been hit by weakening sales in the United States (US), is the target of a potential takeover move by US rival Bally Technologies.
