"the chart often tells the story before we get the announcement" - nup... didn't know this, sorry, and I don't believe it now. How can the chart tell the future? The best it can do is calculate a trend based on trading, which is by definition, in the past! The best TA can indicate in this situation is sentiment. And in the absence of any concrete new information, sentiment will feed off itself.
"which could explain the delay" - the delay is already explained.
By the wat... don't you love @bruutz82 's bedside manner? If you don't want him to serve you like that, you should really read back over a couple of announcements and maybe a page or two of posts before you post, otherwise he's going to spot your ignorance and shred you for it!
