NMDA receptors are responsible for excitatory responses in the brain, leading to spontaneous synaptic activity. Makes sense if they went after manic bi-polar where neurons are recently found to be hyper-active (depolarised). In theory, modulating NMDA may reverse that .... interesting find. Just my thoughts.
