Yes for real, are you kidding??!! your comments are narrow minded to say the least. any person applying for job in finance, say a stockbrokers assistant is expected to have a Degree in Economics/finance etc. to not have one as a CEO for a bank astounds me that the board put him on. a good degree in that field gives one a big leg up than learning on the job. perhaps your degree in say, psychology would be fine in your world. Grimshaw did do a runner, a contract is a contract.
BOQs share price was in the $6 range post GFC., not hard to turn that around. They did a rights issue, about 3 for 26 I recall?? adding another ~$450mill to the market cap. piss weak. he did not raise the price only on performance, doing a placement will. also this was announced during their financial reporting last year, who does tha in the business world, only boq. only boq buys a loss making entity like Virgin Money, of course Matt Baxby would have made sure that deal would go through.
Anyhow BOQ raise ~$450mill to buy Investec I think their name is, last year, leasing company plus a bit more, mostly what they do now, in the peak of a mining boom??!! classic, who thought that one up, only boq come up with that then ask the shareholders to pay at a diluted price, absolute bastardry, lets not start on their unique OM model
