"The Queensland Government has secured $3.6 million from failed resources company Linc Energy to begin rehabilitation efforts on the western Darling Downs."

The way this is worded it makes it sound as though Linc have admitted they were responsible for contamination and have given the government $3.6 to start work cleaning up.

The $3.6 million will in fact be the security deposit paid by Linc at the beginning of the project that will have been seized by the government. It would be poetic justice if they have to pay it back to Linc if the court case does not go the way they want.

Bloody big difference but this government never lets the truth get in the way of getting what they want.
