Mr. Harold Smith reports
CURRIE ROSE RESOURCES INC.: DRILL RESULTS IDENTIFY A NEW GOLD TARGET AT THE JUBILEE REEF PROJECT, TANZANIA
Currie Rose Resources Inc. has provided the results of a 17-hole "scout" reverse circulation (RC) drilling program completed by Barrick last quarter. The drilling successfully tested a number of VTEM geophysical anomalies and historic geochemical anomalies.
Highlights:
JBRRC002 -- 20 metres grading 0.94 gram per tonne gold from 175 metres including four metres grading 3.94 g/t gold from 181 metres; and JBRRC007 -- seven metres grading 2.9 g/t gold from surface, including two metres grading 7.8 g/t gold from five metres and 22 metres grading 1.35 g/t gold from 121 metres.
Two holes (JBRRC007 and JRRC008) were drilled at the Panapendeza prospect confirming previous rotary air blast (RAB) drilling, while drilling at the Tembo prospect (JBRRC002 to JBRRC004) identified broad, low-grade gold mineralization highlighted by an intercept of four metres grading 3.94 g/t gold (see table). A map showing the prospect locations can be viewed at the company's website.
The Jubilee Reef project is located the Siga Hills region of the Lake Victoria gold field in Tanzania. The project area is the host for the first gold mine (1898) in Tanzania known as the Augusta Victoria and lies approximately 35 kilometres south of the Barrick-owned Bulyanhulu gold mine.
Previous exploration by Sub-Sahara Resources NL identified six prospective targets at Jubilee Reef. In all cases, successful geochemistry techniques have been followed by rotary air blast (RAB) drilling, and the recent Barrick initiative has confirmed three of these areas with coincident airborne geophysics and RC drilling.
Historic, peak RAB drilling intercepts include:
19 metres grading 3.96 g/t gold from 26 metres at Panapendeza; 28 metres grading 2.94 g/t gold from surface at Shangaza; 12 metres grading 1.43 g/t gold from 16 metres at Masabi; and eight metres grading 1.33 g/t gold from 14 metres at Sungura.
Management remains confident that the Jubilee project has the potential to host significant gold resources and looks forward to further exploration activity by Barrick at the conclusion of the wet season.
The qualified person for the release of this exploration information is Michael Griffiths, MausIMM, director of Currie Rose Resources and chief executive officer/director of Sub-Sahara Resources NL.
