I believe McGOWAN did very well out of Impulse Airlines sale to Qantas back about 15 years ago. From memory, Impulse Airlines was a budget airline operating mainly out of Newcastle Airport. Impulse was taken over by Qantas, tarted up a bit and is now more or less known as Jetstar in a roundabout kinda way.
So I would say Impulse was a success in the end and yes, McGOWAN would have made bucket loads.
McGOWAN allegedly, was somehow involved in some discrepancies in the past financial statements of CBD. McGOWAN was then relieved of his duties with CBD energy.
