I hear u re the time thing. And I don't consider myself I good trader so I only purchase shares that I would be willing to hold for a reasonable period. That doesn't mean I don't do anything short-term, however just that I would only buy a "trade" stock if it is financially strong enough for me to be interested in a longer term hold (ie. MTS and NAB being two recent ones).
But happy enough for the managers of good portfolios like BKI to do the hard work for me. They do a good enough job, with no rip off happening as time goes on.
