If you're disillusioned mid-bear market and bought a bunch of random alt-coins, how are you not a speculator? Did you seriously think there was some sort of actual demand in the market for a certain industry to use a particular monetary unit controlled by some random company with even less accountability than the Government (XRP)? Having multiple random currencies is like going back to the barter system pre-money. It makes no sense.
Just like how I previously mentioned XRP to you. The Australian Government simply got the banks to form a federated system allowing digital confiscatable and controlled mobile payments between individuals and merchants. This is all accomplished without running on a speculative pump and dump scheme run with even less accountability than the banks or the government are held to.
Even with Lightning network exchange capability, people will just trend to the single unit of account with the greatest network effect and liquidity. Unlike Vays, I have no problem with some of the bigger free software friendly, non-scammy, non-premined alts like Litecoin and Monero, but these will remain niche markets with exponentially greater security threats
