Yes exactly. This may be a good thing for blockchain technology, but it won't be a good thing for anyone caught on the wrong side of an alt coin investment.
This is very similar to the Dot-Com Boom from what I can see. Every internet company's valuation went sky high just from the perception of being an internet company. At the end of the day there was just a few of them left, Amazon, Ebay, Paypal, etc.
