In the US we either see the keys of the asylum handed over to the inmates or the new ice queen puppet of the elite bankers installed which will lead to perpetual war in the Middle East. Both will take the victory as an opportunity to spend big on whatever crazy foray they might be planning (ie building walls, putting extremists back in their boxes etc).

In Europe an existential war is starting between the elites and worryingly the working class people who are increasingly attracted to right wing political parties that promise to releave them of the pain being caused by central bankers deflating their hard labours and savings out of existence. The survival of Renzi in Italy will be the litmus test of the power of the elite.s. If Renzi goes the dominos will fall through Europe, one after the other. The ruling parties in Germany, France, Spain will be decimated and the keys to that asylum will also be handed over to the inmates.

In China the elite will keep pump priming the economy every time they see dark clouds on the horizon but eventually, who knows when, they will reach the same state as the rest of the world, the law of diminishing returns will prevail. That extra Yuan won't produce a measurable return. In fact at one point that extra Dollar, Euro, Yen, Yuan etc starts producing the opposite effect, a negative return as we have seen in many parts of the world. Once China reaches that stage internal polical friction will heat up polical fault lines in their system and it will become a self perpetuating machine, where the people will push on one side and the machine will push back on the other side. We all know who wins that war and the economic "miracle" we have witnessed in the last decades will revert back to a state controlled nightmare, with money outflows the order of the day. Russia and China are very similar in a number of ways. Imagine if this scenario plays out and China throws up a leader who is willing to posture on the world stage just like Putin is doing. Couple that on the other side with either a war party (the currrent democrats) or an unpredictable imbecile that shoots from the hip and you will thank your lucky stars we live on an island with a functioning democracy, a small and easily managable population and an abundance of natural resources that can back the wealth of nations (gold) and feed the war aspirations of the super powers posturing for position in the new world.

I am not making light of the world's challenges - there are heeps of them but I am a glass half full guy.
The day to day volatility currently is giving our goldies a boost. Tick. Profit from it.
By answering our own challenges in our daily life and living ethically and honestly is a way of paying it forward. Enjoy the moment - like the lizard races.
Politicians and those with economic power will always wield it badly to many folks detriment - that's why human history is littered with wars and revolutions. We don't learn do we ?
In today's climate it does indeed pay to live in the greatest and most isolated continent.
