I agree with you hawkeye that establishing the Renewable Energy Fund should benefit CBD and other renewable energy companies in medium and long term.

But the immediate winners are advertising agencies, media and IT industry.

I do not think that population needs any more adds telling them that green energy is better for the planet. By and large that battle has been won.

What is needed, are funds to assist Aussie companies such as CBD to get in the front line of the world green industry. Australia is currently not positioning itself to be a leader in this industry even though the official policy is to encourage it and grow it.

It would have multiple benefits such as creating new jobs in expanding green industries with positive vision of the future. Manufacturing products that are in demand locally and worldwide would provide current and future generations with jobs and incomes.

It would assist with meeting and exceeding Kyoto targets and beyond.

It would improve the image of Australia as progressive, forward looking green nation.

Advertising agencies do not need any more money designated for green future IMO.
