There is a 'system' in place, TST, it's what doctors know, it's the way they've always done things.
If there is no clear advantage then why change?
Doesn't the TST do a good job?
Doesn't this new test cost more?
Doesn't this new test mean the patient won't come back to have another consult? (ie..subtext.. it hurts my business)
Doesn't a lower rate of detected active TB mean it's missing some positives, in spite of the claimed lower false positivity?
I know the answers, see my no-brainer comments earlier in this thread.
Inertia will be overcome, and surely be given a big push under favourable CDC (etc) guidelines.
So what's new?, been the same story since listing, step by step CST will take over this niche.
I hold not because I expect big steps but because the journeys end is assured.
