Tesla has now moved towards permanent magnets with Dy as well, better performance for size & weight and lower costs. Toyota is just being a party pooper because they missed out on the EV race and looking to grab some headlines.

As for Debbie downer I do agree with some of his views just before he bailed out of NTU which left him badly scorched :
"End of the day NTU could be very profitable on it's Dy concentrate and it would seem more avenues to market are opening up."
and
"Australia has the potential to be THE major ROW supplier of Dy, a key future commodity, and after Duncan NTU is the next best shot IF they can deliver a resource in line with their drill results (this side of CY [China] doing a TO}. "
Of course that was before he put all his eggs in one basket and ended up with omelette in his basket and a bitter taste of DyO in his mouth.
