IPOs Scrutinised - World Mining Stocks Magazine`s Luke Clancy
Looking back at the AIM mining new issues over the last 12 months (to end March 2007) there were 51* new issues (placements and introductions). From 34 placings a total of £606 million was raised. The average issue price was 69 pence per share. Since issue, the average change in share price to April 13, 2007 amongst the 34 stocks has seen a positive rise of 26%. The best time to invest would have been in the third quarter of CY2006, as the 13 companies raising funds in that period have increased their share prices since issue by an average of 34%.
Sylvania Resources has also doubled its share price since listing on AIM in Q3. It is involved in PGM projects on the Bushveld Igneous Complex in South Africa and in the treatment of tailings from chrome mines.
