Bids pre-open are not always what they seem - check if it is still there 1 minute before the auction starts. May well find it is withdrawn.
fooca - my understanding of the pre-open auction is that buys and sells with the same price are matched off so if the bid is still there for the auction they will be bought for .003 as long as there is a seller there at that price (which there are heaps).
