Doesn't NCM own a portion of the losing bidder Lundin? Clearly there is enough land in developing countries for both company's to operate without stepping on each others toes
But i doubt the driver with Solgold is gold. Copper transactions lately are
- CITIC 20% investment in Ivanhoe
- Zijin (also an investor in Ivanhoe, 10%, + 40% direct stake in Kamoa copper deposit)
- BHP 6% investment in Solgold
- OZL takeover of Avanco
- NCM ?? Investment in Lundin
Gold's time will come, but right now it seems to be the red metal
