If you want a product that pretty well replicates the market but in reverse, try the etf BEAR. If the market goes up by 2% then BEAR should act as you mentioned and drop by roughly the same.... Same goes for bull etf's.... GEAR is a STRONG bull etf... Also don't forget that you are dealing with a market maker as well as ordinary traders.

it probably track the future. As of now the future continues to go up and BBOZ and BEAR continues to go down even the cash market is closed
