He has made some foolish choices and paid a price for them.
As for the drug use Cousins clearly has a problem but he has never returned a positive drug test even though he has been tested a large number of times and there are something like 30 AFL players who have returned positive tests, some more than once.
The whole thing is a bloody joke
The AFL are still hiding the details of who returns a positive drug test and the club is not even told one of their players has produced a positive test. The clubs are not allowed to test their own players, so even if they suspect some one is using drugs they can not prove it.
Now the AFL is putting all these conditions on Cousins before he is allowed to return, and it could be argued rightly so. But what of the 30 odd others who have unlike Cousins returned positive tests and are allowed to continue with no real restrictions and the AFLs continued policy of protecting those that doproduce positive tests.
That is a great example being made for kids to follow, take drugs but if you get caught it will be all hushed up by the AFL but if your club takes actions against you then you will be crucified
