Just under 54K today. Cricket configuration because of the sight-screens means 5k less, plus around 1200 no shows, mainly from the membership stand.
Was at the game today and made a point to make a few observations -
1. They don't offer all 4 drinks at every bar, there are two main bars set up as a standard pub under each big screen (the tap room) that have all drinks on offer. the other bars around the level 3 and level 5 main concourse had either alby or singlefin, generally it was mainly alby but there was a couple of single fin taps only.
2. Like with any major stadium in a sellout there was some big lines for beer pre-game but during I had no trouble getting in and out, some bars ran out during the day but were then re-stocked - my guess is they took kegs from other bars. Design the stadium however you like it can only solve so much, people were lining up to access certain bars and food and beverage stands but a short walk around or up/down stairs and there was plenty of empty ones! Pictures and comments on social media will make you believe they ran out of beer etc, which is true but only at those certain bars which were smashed certain sections (barmy army)
3. Continuing above, I don't think stadium management fully accounted for the brand new factor and I am certain patrons were spending big on food and drinks than they would on average (hence the above issues with supply at some spots). The big test for gage comes in the next few days as they restock for the scorchers game.
4. Gage had some signage and slogans around about the beer being local and brewed only a short distance away.
5. Finally, anyone going to the stadium soon, my tip is if you have general admission - get in early and stake a spot at the bar tables at either of the 'tap room' bars set up under the big screens, amazing views and a pub feel with TV's and commentary showing.
6. Single fin mid strength was very good, not as much body as the original but was super easy to drink and tasted fantastic. Unfortunately didnt get a chance to try the atomic.
On the back of that, I will be buying more shares because they are going to be pumping thousands of litres through the stadium this year and if by todays standards, it is going to exceed expectations.
