iSOFT, an IBA Health Group Company (ASX:IBA), and the largest listed Health IT company on the Australian Securities Exchange announced that a project to replace a 20 year-old patient administration system at Cabrini Health (one of Australia’s largest private health services) with the latest web-based technology was completed today by a joint Cabrini and iSOFT implementation team under a $1.5 million contract agreed in June 2007.
iSOFT’s WebPAS is installed at Cabrini Health’s six campuses, which includes two acute care hospitals, palliative care and residential care facilities providing 600 beds in total. A Victorian catholic private not-for-profit health service, Cabrini has the full suite of WebPAS products for ADT, patient billing, medical records and tracking, theatre, outpatients, private practice, referrals management, waiting lists, emergency, and management reporting.
The solution streamlines administration processes, integrating patient management, billing, theatre management, electronic discharge and back–office functionality within a single suite of software. Supporting Cabrini’s long tem growth plans, WebPAS forms the basis of an organisation wide strategy of improving the flow of administrative and health information available to care professionals.
Close collaboration between Cabrini Health and iSOFT project teams has been a highlight of the 18 month implementation program.
Judith Day, Cabrini’s Chief Financial Officer said: “The fully-integrated system is a major investment for Cabrini Health. It will introduce efficiencies across the organisation and will have a huge impact given that the superseded system had been in place for more than 20 years,” she said.
“We put a lot of effort into the change management aspect of the project. This focus has reaped noticeable rewards on ‘go live’ day with over 700 new users of the system seamlessly getting on with their work.”
The contract includes software licenses, implementation services and maintenance and support for three years.
