I hold both WPI (as WPIOA options) and BLZ and am confident in both positions.
Investment strategy is not so simple though; its a matter of value vs timeline.... and also the two shells are differentiated by 'total shares on issue' , 'free float' and also of course, Market Cap.
BLZ is just ⅓ of WPI Market Cap, so no-one invested here is "letting capital sit that long" since BLZ is much cheaper, offers value in terms of price and might be expected to triple (at very least given its tighter register) until it reaches the equivalent maturation of WPI. That's a pretty decent use of capital IMO... if you argue WPI going off first is assured, then one must weigh the BLZ price value against the time premium of an investment in WPI.
Given SRT is at MC of $21 mil pre-acquisition (ann is tomorrow!), and WPI currently >$9 mil MC: WPI's SP might double until acquisition, while BLZ might septuple (7-fold increase ), therefore WPI cannot reasonably be expected to deliver the same return as BLZ pre-acquisition - all my opinion only.
BLZ has a much tighter set-up than WPI IMO with just 62 mill shares on issue of which MW/Cicero control almost 75%. Witness the illiquidity of this stock - just look at the scant sell depth, SP jumping >7% on just 300k shares traded today - love that as an investor here!
Certainly nobody is misinforming anyone about which is the next cab off the rank - I merely posed the question, noting that WPI is chronologically ahead but that BLZ has the tighter set-up (can't argue with just 62 mil shares on issue, 44 mill of which are controlled by MW and his Cicero connections).
Either way, I see more value here at the moment than in WPI although it does depend on one's timeframe and investment thesis. An alternative might be to do what I have done and spread one's investment between the two (more in BLZ for me as it has more value IMO and I can wait an extra few months for a potential multi-bag over-and-above a WPI investment at current market cap). Both potentially offer great returns over time.
Of course, all this is my opinion only and not meant as advice, but makes for some interesting thought...
Good luck to all BLZ, WPI and SRT holders (especially SRT holders tomorrow!)
