Hmmm..
How about a shareholder won't actually realize a loss until they sell. It looks like BML is going to continue on as an entity, so holders have time to make a profit somewhere else and then sell their BML stock to offset the loss against their profit to reduce CGT.
Probably not quite what you're looking for.
