TAKEOVER OF BCL ASSETS NEARS CONCLUSION

There is renewed hope in Selebi Phikwe that economic activity will be revived as the takeover deal of BCL assets nears conclusion.
BCL Provisional Liquidator, Nigel Dixon Warren, confirmed that a due diligence exercise that is being carried out by the potential buyers will be completed next week.
He expressed hope that an agreement will be reached by the end of April as government funding for care and maintenance is due to come to an end at the same time.
He explained that the expectation is that as soon as the agreement is signed, the buyers will take over the care and maintenance costs and commence on preparatory works to resume operations.
Dickson-Warren however, could not confirm reports that the Dubai Royal family said to be behind the deal will be in the country next week to visit the mine.
