Elliott Wave poster boy Robert Prechter has been bearish the S&P 500 for several years. If anyone took Prechter's advice and shorted the S&P 500 back in 2009, the losses would have been catastrophic. Nobody knows where the U.S. market is headed. But at least it is easy to insert one or two moving averages on a chart and trade in the direction of where the lines are headed.
