Aquanaut, from my perspective it is hard to believe the Houthis will enter into the peace negotiations with any true goodwill. So far they are doing what they always do. That is, they make all the right consoling noises and pretend they will participate only for the talks to fail as their demands are unrealistic (or they don't turn up at all).

That said it does seem the west is trying to stop this war.  The west are leveraging the Saudi incident with Khashoggi to apply pressure to the Saudis to find a peaceful solution.

Will it happen? As a few of us have said in this forum I believe the solution lies in a decisive military victory over the Houthis. But I would be very happy to be proven wrong by a workable peaceful solution.

To date the Houthis have used the truce and negotiation periods to resupply and reinforce their military positions setting back the coalition progress thus delaying  an end to the war. I doubt this will change this time round given the Houthi leaders proclamation that "they will never surrender".

    Just my opinion.
