    Land Council. . Getting Approval.

I vist this place at least twice a year. The elders in charge do not want to have a lot of developement. Money is of very little importance to many of them. They are more concerned about protecting its Crystal Clear Land and water.

The port that was built was for small ships and not for heavy commercial use. Just to unload supplies.

It is true they have turned down previous mining applications.

It has a very popular Fishing Charter operation and this approval took quite some time to get approved along with the buildings.

MZI have a licence to mine Rutile there.

Be aware RIO have a very poor reputation in regards to Enviroment Protection and I am sure the land council is aware of that. RIO have in the past failed to honor assurances in other parts of the world especially New Guinea.

As a keen fisherman I just love the fishing there. It is tops. I would be advising the land council to tread very cautiously in permitting RIO any where near their Crystal Clear waterways and remind them of what happened in New Guinea.
