Wrong, carbon abatement is a long standing Liberal policy to abate carbon by creating carbon sinks via forestry regeneration and management. Tony Abbotts much maligned direct action policy.

It has achieved substantial carbon abatement at $12 tCO2e which is less than half the cost of the carbon tax Labor brought in at $25 a tCO2e. It also looks nicer planting trees than planting wind farms if you ask me. I have predicted multiple times that the fund would get topped up this year as it has been so successful in getting us to our Paris targets.
