"After learning about Choi’s troubles, Posco said it broke off talks with Lithea, only to reopen them in late 2014, on the understanding that Choi would no longer be involved."
.. and then ...
"The Posco-Lithea venture, meantime, began to unravel. Last September (2016), Posco finally pulled out, citing breach of contract, a Hong Kong court document shows. "
So POSCO have been planning its entry into Argentina 5 years ago, but was delayed ... twice ... because of partners that it got wrong. (Lithea and the geological firm)
After that experience, of course they would want the money to be in escrow. Who wouldn't ? And here they are now, finally getting its own lithium source in Argentina, after 5 years, north of SDV, from Galaxy.
I guess what I am trying to say is that, they WANT north of SDV to proceed, they WANT it to succeed. They are determined.
So those still doubting or questioning why a long TH, still thinking that maybe the deal fell through, just look at the hurdles they have to go through to get to this point.
Besides, POSCO already legally own 95% of north of SDV, the ones that are in the Catamarca province because those deeds were transferred to POSCO in 28 December 2018. It is only the small percentage, the 5%, that sits in the Salta province, that were held up.
Interestingly, if you read the article, Lithea's project that was sold to BMC which was then sold to Canadian LSC Lithium ... was originally valued at US$280M, sold to BMC for US$1.3M, then sold to Canadian LSC for US$44M.
US$280M .... hmmm .. the same amount of money GXY will get for selling north of SDV. Once the deeds in Salta are transferred, and money in escrow released to GXY, I think POSCO will then see GXY as someone they can really trust after the bad experience they had earlier. From that trust, there will be endless possibilities, which I think is what AT was mentioning in a kind of corporate-speak of way.
