What happens will largely depend on global banking conditions. That includes but is not limited to intrabank lending, shadow bank lending, derivatives markets and what happens to non-performing loans (globally) as interest rates creep up. If I look to China the shadow bank lending market has collapsed and published lacklustre economic growth is probably a fiction. There is insufficient growth in the BRICS and emerging market debts can't be repaid. And so on.
Small companies present both risk and reward. I see banks that pretend to be large but are actually global minnows presenting the risk bit without the reward bit.
