I agree.
However for every view on the same topic there is a counter view.
1. The way the Federal government acts and the relationship with China and the tightening of the noose?
(a) So lets get the anti-dumping laws active afford them more financial and legal teeth and reduce cheaper imports and lets see what happens to the retail shelves of the major retailers.
(b) Allow us embrace other countries with diverse & exotic cultures and different consumer tastes and finished goods expectations only on a "parity trade arrangement" where reciprocity is more closely aligned.
(c) Let us be more diligent in what assets in the country we allow to be sold, perhaps the FIRB would like to introduce a "person/country of good standing" before it allows wholesale international investment.
2. "Good times are ahead" is just not in the vernacular of company directors or KMP personnel any more since there is no true safe harbour for these folks and D&O insurance is becoming both expensive and narrower in its scope of cover these days, and let us not forget the litigious nature that has crept in to commercial world so speaking of futures will couched with words of caution. Perhaps one could take up some discussion with ASIC in regards the Corporations Act and offer some relief or a safe harbour to allow D&O members of a company to talk with more openly and with some degree inspirational enthusiasm that does not expose them to value-destroying legal actions.
3. Sponsorship you say. Yes that a company (brand) awareness initiative and is discretionary, whereas R&D is an investment in the future. Sponsorship in Tasmania for a company with international aspirations seems somewhat perochial but then I am not from Tasmania.
4. I have no idea what you know, maybe you are a maverick who seeks to drive discount in to the short term share price or maybe you are just a contrarian. Either way you do throw up some entertaining points of debate.
5. It would appear the BAL ball has been very much bouncing around lately and good for short term traders but immaterial to those with a longer investment horizon.
Cheers.
(that took me all of 5 minutes to type, if you understand the obtuse point being made).
