People you fail to heed my advice its not the projects that are the problem. Most have excellent exploration potential, and Petroa is a world class asset in my eyes. It seems like management where sleeping at the wheel. To not hedge some production to limit the risk, is unbelievable, how banks and institutional investors have lent on this is even more damning. Boards are put in place to protect shareholders interest and to manage the company conservative, and not expose the company to unnecessary risk. I understand about weather conditions, delays and cost overruns, but to be so late on the company making project is boarding on complacency (orginal cost of development was nearly doubled and yrs late). Zinc prices cant be blamed for the closure. As the company had two years to hedge, even if the price went up over the hedge, it would be a wise decision because you are protecting the first few yrs of the mine, they are always the hardest. Plenty of other miners have unhedged if necessary. The Angus zinc mine (South Australia) has worse grades, and it was hedged for three yrs of production, and and most probs will miss the bear market now.
The company used a $2600 a tonne zinc price in the most recent npv valuation. Why not hedge it. How can you get more finance otherwise. Why even waste money on these reports, if you aren't going to limit the risk?
What is this about the silver not taken into account (processed) or am i reading it wrong?
Management should not to be involved in other mine development, after this debacle. Just like what happened at Bendigo mining. Sorry guys and girls, but the share price is going to track Bendigo minings share price, thats if management get the ass. If not who knows what will happen.
Such great potential wasted in my eyes, and worse of all the people of Burkina Faso really need this project and would move heaven and earth for the company.
Heads need to roll, and those of you with big holdings, make it happen. Ring up the ceo, the cfo, and other directors and ask for there heads. You own the company as well. Protect your investments.
