Let me be clear. The domestic consumption of battery minerals in Australia does not affect the global supply/demand equation as Australia has a sad manufacturing industry. What does is the consumption of battery minerals in the US, Europe and Asia where manufacturing of batteries and other technology products consume most of the worlds production.
Where in my posts have I mentioned 'wanting to squander the treasure'?
In fact the opposite is the case, we are frustrated by the incredibly slow pace of the development of the 'treasure'. The complaint is not that the 'treasure will be squandered' the complaint is that the 'treasure may not be dug out of the ground'.
The only part of your analogy with truffle farmers that rings true in the case of CFE, is the number of snouts in the trough! However, the commodities that CFE has in the ground, or should I say 'on top of the ground' in the case of the 2 tailings projects, are in demand and there is a ready and willing market in existence that is itching to consume what CFE has.
So in answer to your question as to who is to blame for the failure, until management prove that they can deliver on their projects then it is management who is/will be to blame for the failure. After all, that is how companies work, management (i.e. directors) are responsible for the running of the company and they get the credit for the successes and must accept the criticism for the failures.
Perhaps now its time to eat some pork and truffles for dinner
