Sorry, Kevro, if I had a portfolio consisting of shares qualifying for a lower rate of tax and shares that do not, and if there was comparable risk and expectation, I'd keep the ones that would produce the greatest yield for my pocket.
An investment decision must be precisely that. Tax comes in when considering timing or comparable investment situations.
Of course, if the tax rate is high or even high enough to constitute confiscation, as has been the case in the UK in the past, then a proportionate amount of the risk is being taken by the exchequer. Then the analysis has to be different.
