how do you know the eta /weather announcement was missing? I’m very sure it would have been known early on in the flight, and they decided to continue. Flight times are similar so why not continue, take on more fuel and off they go. Beats turning back into London, wait for landing queue, change planes, move baggage etc, and probably waste 2 hrs or so and delay every bodies travel by far more than they need to. Sure it was a big error by the airline, but not a safety issue. One thing for sure it won’t happen again by BA.
