sf a great post but i do want to pose a question or two.
I am out of bow ,vpe and esg, sold some arrow, blue energy, but not many wcl and mpo. Hold sto and org long term which have some exposure, and did buy ajl and some others who might benefit from the csg boom.
i have had mixed results from my decision to back away from csg to some extent as there has been some good opportunities with eastern group, and comet ridge etc to name a couple - selling esg to get into more hgo has been a top move also with some luck involved.
We are all aware of the technical and water treatment challenges etc; and the great rush for contracts with buyers by the lng proponents in ng and wa. This could have an interesting outcome, as if the growth in demand envisaged occurs or is exceeded, then those who are a bit slower to sign buyers may well get greater prices - who knows?!
The pricing of 2p and even 3p was somewhat variable in the past with if i remember rightly, santos getting one of the higher figures and values dropping for qgc and even pes and values all over the shop but backing off somewhat since. I still have some vpe in my childrens name and i noted their values ( done by rbs morgans ) of only 20c/gj for 2p of don juan, and 16c a gj for g.i.p. estimate for atp574, and they used that value for pl 171 which i would have thought quite a strategic lease.
little publicity to the acquisition of ajl's share of lease 651 - the Japanese (as an entirety, and i now there are lots of co's and not gov't owned like China ) and i cant think of their name ( was it sojitz? ) have been quiet with csg since shg and cottee shoved them out of the way with qgc's takeover of shg. Still it is very ecouraging and seems to contradict my view that values were declining - what is occurring??
Is it just that what some of us thought that the buyers want location ( close to pipelines and/or power stations ) , lng and flow rates ;or is it distance from settled areas and prime farming land also coming ito the equation??
