Has anyone thought about the implications of the AWE t/o battle, for COE?
Is there any?
I had a look initially trying to compare the implied valuation of the first CREG bid, and tried to come up with a figure - any only got a m/v of about current SP ?
but I think there are all sorts of variables for an acquirer to consider.
One thing i was thinking about, is the blue-sky that a Chinese bidder might see in COE, which might be the prospectivity of Manta.
I think Manta has been drilled previously, and found gas.
The new Manta well to be drilled 2018, is to go deeper to investigate bigger and deeper resource.
All the Manta gas is uncontracted.
The Chinese bidder for AWE states it wants to use the uncontracted AWE gas to supply WA, but also the East Coast, via their smaller LNG plant.
But that seems an expensive option?
I still think that is b/s - they want AWE gas to supply LNG to China !
So therefore, what about the uncontracted Sole gas, and all of Manta? and what of the gas in Otway, which seems to be low risk expansion?

Anyway, I wonder if COE has been looked at by some of these predators??
