A rough few weeks over on AVL. The global fundamentals havnt changed. You still have a massive resource and great grades.
My experience with TNG warned me that the transition from PFS to DFS is a dificult time and can be protracted especially if scoping/ testing metalurgical processes not previously commercially tested.
We are entering a changing world were sustainable energy and therefor battery storage necessarily playing a huge role. The tipping point is not to far away. Perhaps a year in respect of EVs.
The recent Paris Climate Agreement Convention ((United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) (UNFCCC)) made good progrees with timetabling and setting temerature gain limits. Some would say they didnt go far enough, but progress was made. One announcement or release while the convention was in progress caught my attention. It was to the effect that the big insurance underwriters and major instutional investers were going to withdraw support/investment for fossel fuel based investment and back investment that assissted with climate control objectives. Clearly this wont happens over night but a warning shot has been fired. The reasons behind it are obvious, increasing climate events are hurting the underwriters and a continuation will cripple the industry with flow on effects everywhere including finance and investment. For me these are the silent big hitters. Lack of insurance cover and investment changes thinking.
EVs are coming onstream and like the smart phone will be the norm before we know it. Back up national grid facilities fuelled by oil or coal will gradually be replaced by Battery Storage Banks/Farms. Aging power stations will be replaced by wind and solar farms were energy is stored. Emerging countries will prefer miro and macro energy utility systems and the core or baseline demand for vanadium in rebar and other alloys will continue to grow. There are many articles containing the projections.
II dont hold AVL but i do hold other V stocks, TNG being a focus. I beleive the future for strategic metals including vanadium is huge. It just doesnt happen over night when change is required. If management focus on what they have too then it will happen and there is room for two or three V projects to come on stream YOY for a while yet.
Merry christmas.
