And I'll just put this out there as a public service announcement: Remember if you are divorced and paying child support, the ATO will add your *losses* (that's right folks, your LOSSES) to your yearly income when calculating child support for the next financial year.
So you may carry that nice fat loss as a future deduction, but depending on your circumstances, you may lose a big chunk of that benefit to your ex partner the next year.
I'll only be letting the oppies in my children's Commsec accounts expire for that reason...
