Binwood, something missing in your calcs above is the capital loss you can book, if you buy heads and let your options expire. Buy heads at 1.8c, and claim the 0.006c you paid for the oppies as a capital loss...
Not so attractive for you, but there's a lot of us, as you flagged, who paid more (my tranches were in the 2.4-2.8c range), and that capital loss becomes a useful offset against future profit.
So the closer we get to 2c, there may well be an incentive *not* to convert, which erodes the cash raising for AVL.
