Indeed - I believe the DFS used the 50 year average (which obviously cannot possibly factor in the EV and electrification of everything revolutions).
Also as to why a consumer would lock in a floor price.. yes guarantee of supply in a potentially very tight market is one but the other is often that they also get some kind of a ceiling price as a trade off.
I think we could all live with a $10 ceiling or discount if it goes above $9 etc. right?
