And a better big brother you could not wish to have!

We all know about Rob Newman, founding Chairman NEA - now CEO - current Non-Exec Director 3DP.

Perhaps less well known is our Non-Exec Chairman, Graham Griffiths:

"Graham was Managing Director for 11.5 years of ASX listed technology commercialisation company Ipernica ltd, including leading the IPO. Graham was also responsible for the acquisition of Nearmap (a global leader in the provision of geospatial map technology) into Ipernica in 2008 and supported the early stage of commercialisation and launch of Nearmap.

"Graham’s involvement in the geospatial industry commenced in 2006 as a non-executive director for both NGIS Australia, a provider of location-based information and technology solutions, and Indji Systems, which develops a range of world leading geospatial products that empower businesses through location based technologies. Graham is also a director and angel investor supporting a number of early stage technology companies scale their businesses globally."

Hidden away in the Half Yearly in February - not really - but for those who missed it:

"The engineering and technical development team is being expanded with the addition of a key resource. From the 1st of March, Russell Rogers will join Pointerra as a senior software engineer following an 8-year role with NearMap. Russell will leverage his considerable experience in architecting large-scale AWS geospatial application deployment at a time where North American based customers are expected to drive step-changes in Pointerra’s 3D data hosting operations."

NEA built its business in 2D. This is rapidly changing. Strategic priorities as part of the CR are "to fund 3D commercialisation in target priority industries, and 3D content standards and platform integration."

There is more going on here than meets the eye. Very close collaborations and deep industry experience being shared between 3DP and NEA.

Think it's only a matter of time before it becomes less opaque.​
