    Mechanic- the only reason people have confidence is because they think WOW has finally turned the corner. wait till the WES report which is beforehand, and my bet is the smarties will drop WOW like a hot potato.

    also, making profit margin in the "burbs" is not that easy. let's say Woolies puts in a store, Coles counterattacks, and then you have Aldi and IGA coming in also..

    it's totally naive to even suggest this from your humble perspective.

    Woolies, Coles, Aldi and IGA do not make a windfall from the burbs population explosion as they all are competing.

    as i said before- the only true gauge is same store sales.
    if Woolies is on the "nose" on same store sales in real suburbia, then they are on the "nose" in the outback burbs as well.

    any sane fund manager knows this and is just waiting for the WES report to drop anchor.
