From memory Austal reps attended Adelaide after the announcement to look at the infrastructure at ASC re the possibility of acquiring land near by.
There were also reports of partial ships being built in Adelaide and completed in WA. Although that sounds a ramshackle way of doing things to me but sounds like something Canberra would insist upon. Possibly better for Austal to move to SA while the ships are being built.?
