I can relate to that almost personally .
First case geo who worked for large mining company did some soil samples found elevated gold readings , but company dismissed the readings , Geo and his partner also a Geo a few years later set up their own company did a deep drill under the transported cover and hit the Andy well lode .
Second case I invented a tree-spade for a tractor only 1.5 meters high so could go under Kiwi fruit pagolas , but got very little work , I sold machine for $16K , couple of months later disease gets into kiwi fruit , and 10s of thousands of vines need to be transplanted , new machine owner becomes millionare transplanting kiwifruit
