Interesting point, but in terms of 'cost' of a holiday, particularly an overseas one, the cost goes up substantially if the currency falls - there is a direct relationship.
For example, going to the U.S. now versus 18 months ago, tickets to attractions, tours, food and accomodation would all be 25% more expensive due to the lower AUD. Multiply that by a couple or a family of 4 and the trip quickly becomes too expensive to afford for many people
